Prior to joining the School of Business & Law at the National University of Ireland Maynooth, John Cullen held a range of management, research and library-related posts in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. He graduated with a PhD from Lancaster University in 2009, and currently lectures in organisational behaviour, leadership, management and business ethics.
His focal research interest relates to how the self is constructed and experienced in contemporary organisations. This has led him to conduct a range of research and consulting projects on subjects as diverse as: mental health in the workplace; learning and leadership development; communication and knowledge sharing practices; identity and career selection; sustainability; spirituality, and; recruitment. He has written over one hundred articles and book chapters, and his most recent book is Communication and Knowledge Sharing at Work (Blackhall Publishing, 2008).
Dr. Cullen is especially interested in cultural, critical and psychological research approaches and welcomes inquiries from potential PhD students (including full-time professionals seeking to conduct doctoral research on a part-time basis) who share his interest in any of the themes or methods mentioned here.
