Peter Robbins (MBS, PhD) is one of Ireland’s foremost experts in innovation and new product and service development. He lectures on Innovation and Entrepreneurship at NUI Maynooth School of Business. For thirteen years, he held a series of international senior management positions with GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), where he was Global Director of Innovation Excellence and helped create many of the worldwide, new product launches for Lucozade, Aquafresh, Sensodyne, Panadol, Ribena and NiQuitin. Parallel to his management responsibilities in GSK, Peter studied part-time in DCU (under Prof Colm O’Gorman) for a PhD on the subject of innovation and teams; specifically looking at how teams can facilitate the development of radical innovation. His PhD was awarded in 2011 having been jointly externed by Prof John Bessant (Exeter) and Dr Paul Ryan (NUI Galway).
Peter now lectures, researches and writes about innovation at NUI Maynooth. Peter has trained in the renowned Stanford D School, he is a graduate of London’s What-if creativity programme. He advises a number of companies and government agencies on matters connected with innovation.
